For those clients who take me up on my Standard Session, one of the perks I enjoy most is after we’ve finished up the studio portion of the session, we take the show outdoors.

We don’t venture too far from my studio, but outdoor shots breath new life into the session and result in some terrific photographs. Given that I’m new to Carmel, and America for the matter, my locations are a bit limited at this point. But one place I love to take clients is Zionsville. It’s only 5 minutes from the studio and offers a relaxing and charming setting to continue shooting portraits.

As small as downtown Zionsville is, I’ve found an amazing amount of eclectic and dramatic backdrops on which to photograph clients. Each time I go, I find a new red wall, a cool bench with beautiful foliage popping up all around, an old dilapidated wood fence… This is the stuff portrait photographers dream about.

If you know of other neat locations in and around Carmel, do tell.  I’m all ears.
